This is quite the match-up, in fact it is the initial Action Figure Grudge Match. This one is dubbed the battle of the exclusives, the musical virtuoso against the feared and disdained inhabitants of Jabba's Palace. I think that as far as figure quality is concerned these would receive equal acclaim. The Monk is the first and only "some assembly required figure" in the whole POTF2 line and is of very good quality. The figure looks identical to its scarcely seen Return of the Jedi counterpart. It is one of the more sought after figures in the POTF2 line due to the fact that many collectors do not have internet access, just as many do not have Fan Club membership. The Cantina Band Member is heavily articulated at the knees, elbows, neck, shoulders, etc. and includes a vinyl outfit, wow!

The two are well matched in secondary market value with the Band Member possessing the slight edge. However, in the long run I have to think that the Monk will be more valuable. So to come to a conclusion, I would have to say that the B'Ommarr Monk is the winner in a very close maiden match-up here at the Zone.
